About

Earth's Reality Chain
A Search Beyond is the first volume in the Exode pentalogy, but it can be read as a stand-alone science fiction novel.

1. A Search Beyond
2. Foundations of Eternity
3. Trysta and Ekcolir
4. Exode
5. The First Reality

For legal reasons, we'll pretend that A Search Beyond is a fan fiction story in which a team of investigative science fiction writers explore the fictional universe of Jack Vance's Oikumene, the Gaean Reach and the Beyond. After reading the story you will be able to come to your own conclusions about the true nature of the relationship between Vance's "fictional" universe and the story told here.

The story and characters from Jack Vance's Demon Princes series, his Alastor Cluster stories and his other fiction are probably claimed as the intellectual property of Vance's estate or other for-profit corporations. The fictional setting of Vance's Oikumene, the Gaean Reach and the Beyond was borrowed for use here in the spirit of fan fiction, for the enjoyment of science fiction fans and with no intention for profit.

The End of Eternity is a novel about time travel that was created by Isaac Asimov. The story and characters from The End of Eternity and his other fiction (such as his positronic robot stories) are probably claimed as the intellectual property of Asimov's estate or other for-profit corporations. Some of the terminology that was created by Asimov for his stories (such as 'positronic' and 'Reality') was borrowed for use here in the spirit of fan fiction, for the enjoyment of science fiction fans and with no intention for profit.

A Search Beyond
A Search Beyond is the story of how the human species was given an "upgrade" and converted from a disposable species into a life form that could spread from Earth to the stars. This transformation took place during a truce between the positronic robot R. Gohrlay and Grean the Kac'hin.

During that truce, actions in the Time Travel War were restricted to absolutely essential changes of the timeline. In the Asimov Reality, R. Gohrlay and Grean put all of their efforts into finding ways to adapt human brains for use of the Bimanoid Interface.

The Bimanoid Interface allows for communication between biological creatures residing in the Hadronic Domain and artificial life forms who inhabit the parallel universe of the Hierion Domain.

A Search Beyond begins on the planet Tar'tron in the Galactic Core...
